When a guest calls or visits in person to make a booking, staff can quickly create one using the inline iPad App. Below are the detailed steps:
Creating a Booking via the iPad App
1. Open the inline App on your iPad.
2. Tap the Book section on the left menu and select the desired booking date from the main calendar.
3. After confirming the correct date at the top of the screen, choose one of the following views to proceed:
- List View: Use the booking form on the left-hand side. After selecting the correct booking time, fill in the remaining fields as needed.
- Timeline View: Scroll to the desired table and time slot, tap the timeline, and the booking form will automatically appear on the left.
- Floor Plan View: First, adjust the time using the timeline at the top of the screen. Then tap the table you want to assign, and the booking form will appear.
When entering guest information, Name and Party Size are required fields. Other fields are optional and can be filled out as needed, including phone number, email, table number, notes, tags, etc.
Once all information is confirmed, drag the Slide to Add button at the bottom to complete the booking.
Please Note:
- To ensure notifications are sent successfully, make sure the guest's phone number is entered correctly. Any typo may cause the message to be sent to the wrong person, leading to confusion or potential privacy concerns.
- If a Booking Agent's contact information is entered, the system will send the booking notification based on the agent’s phone number or email address.
- If you are manually assigning a table, please confirm that there is still availability during the selected time slot to avoid double bookings or unassignable tables.
- The High Chair field indicates how many children will require a high chair. For example, if the guest has two children, and only one needs a high chair, you may input it as: 2 children, 1 high chair.
- The guest's language setting is typically auto-detected based on the name entered. For example, if the guest’s name is in English, the system will automatically set the language to English. Staff may also manually adjust the guest’s language. This setting affects both the language used in the notification and the language of the webpage the guest sees when they open it.
- If you see a cloud icon after saving a record, it indicates an unstable internet connection and that the data is still syncing to the cloud. Until the cloud icon disappears, the upload is not yet complete. We recommend switching to a more stable internet connection or trying a mobile hotspot to improve sync performance.
