When a guest needs to change their dining time, party size, or table assignment at short notice, the restaurant can use the inline iPad App to edit the existing booking information. Below are the detailed steps:
General Editing Procedure
1. Open the inline App on your iPad.
2. Tap the Book section on the left menu, then select the booking date from the main calendar, or use the search function to find and jump to the specific booking.
3. At the bottom left of the booking details, tap Edit, then modify the necessary information. You can edit the following fields as needed: guest name, party size, time, table number, contact details, notes, tags, etc.
4. After confirming all changes, drag the Slide to Update button to complete the editing.
Please Note:
- If you change the booking date or time, or add a deposit during editing, the system will resend the booking notification to the guest.
- If you only modify the guest name, party size, notes, or table assignment, no additional notification will be sent.
- If you edit a booking that has already passed, the system will not send a notification to the guest.
Editing or Transferring Phone Numbers
If you change the guest’s phone number during editing, the system will resend the booking notification to the New Phone Number. Because this action involves handling guest data, please carefully consider the following options when prompted:
- Edit: Indicates the original phone number was incorrect and you are correcting it for the Same Guest (Guest A). Choosing this will merge the two phone numbers under the same guest record.
- Transfer: Indicates the booking is being transferred from the original guest (Guest A) to a New Guest (Guest B). After confirming transfer, Guest B will receive the relevant notification, and this booking will no longer belong to Guest A. Future searches using Guest A’s information will not show this booking.
👉 If you want to avoid merging two guest records, please select Transfer.
Please Note: To prevent mistakes, the system has a safeguard mechanism: booking notifications to a new phone number will only be sent if the phone number change was made more than 3 minutes ago. This protection is designed because, in real scenarios (outside of testing), it is unlikely for the phone number to be changed repeatedly in a short time.
